Our Mission

For the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) and Microsoft Elevate, we partnered with Leiseder Kommunikation & Marketing to develop an interactive, browser-based online game that brings together two defining topics of our time: artificial intelligence and sustainable mobility.

The goal was to make AI skills understandable and engaging—not abstract, but practical and playful. At the same time, mobility should be experienced as a conscious decision between speed, cost, and sustainability.

A key requirement was a free movement system across a map of Switzerland, combined with a clearly guided learning progression. The game needed to work without prior knowledge, motivate rather than frustrate players—and allow for meaningful decisions along the way.

The Details

ODYSSAI is an interactive learning adventure built with PixiJS, combining route planning, multimodal travel, and AI learning content. Players travel across Switzerland together with Bocki, a smart AI ibex, gradually helping him develop new AI abilities along the journey.

The experience focuses on:

  • Free route selection on an interactive map of Switzerland
  • Guided learning progression with visible milestones
  • Dialogues, quizzes, and mini-games to actively apply AI concepts
  • Strategic decisions between time, money, and energy
  • Random events that introduce unexpected challenges
  • Automatic saving for seamless, interruption-free gameplay

The core challenge was translating complex AI concepts—such as algorithmic thinking, analysis, and optimization—into intuitive game mechanics that remain engaging and easy to understand.

The Special Touch

ODYSSAI combines learning mechanics with decision-based gameplay. There is no traditional “game over”—instead, different strategies lead to different outcomes. Choosing speed, sustainability, or cost efficiency influences the journey and makes trade-offs tangible.

  • AI concepts are explained playfully and integrated into the game
  • Players experience how different decisions lead to different outcomes
  • Sustainability emerges through system logic rather than instruction
  • Strategic choices create high replay value

Visually, the game features hand-drawn, lovingly animated pixel graphics by Kilian Wilde. The charming aesthetic meets technically sophisticated browser implementation—easy to access, yet thoughtfully designed in its underlying systems.

The Result

The result is a free, browser-based AI learning game that makes complex topics accessible while encouraging strategic thinking.

ODYSSAI demonstrates that artificial intelligence is not an abstract future concept, but a practical tool for everyday life. At the same time, sustainable mobility becomes an engaging and conscious decision-making experience. Players finish their journey with new knowledge, a personal achievement badge, and the opportunity to participate in the TCS competition.

A game that sparks curiosity about AI—and shows how much of the future lies in the decisions we make.

A Word from Our Clients

“Our goal was to make AI understandable and tangible—without it feeling like a traditional learning program. Die Schittigs delivered a highly cohesive game design that conveys the content in a playful way while integrating strategic decisions around mobility. What stood out to me in particular was the structured and straightforward collaboration throughout all phases of the project.”

Primo Amrein,
Microsoft Elevate

“With Odyssai, we co-developed a game that makes the opportunities of AI and the diversity of mobility visible, showing how AI can support decisions such as choosing the right mode of transport. This also reflects the values of TCS and our commitment to self-determined mobility.”
